Classes

Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on improving movement, flexibility, strength, balance and posture.  At Restore Physio & Pilates, we offer a wide range of Pilates classes including Physio and instructor-led, on both the mat and reformer.

Whether it’s recovery from injury or to improve your strength and fitness, we have a class for you.

  • Classes led by Physiotherapists allow those with injuries, who are pregnant or have other conditions to exercise in a safe and effective manner that is specific to your needs.

Pilates is an extremely beneficial method in rehabilitation and recovery from injury, as well as in maintaining joint mobility, muscle strength and overall wellbeing.

  • Since the growth in popularity of the reformer, mat Pilates can often be overshadowed and undervalued! However, it is still one of the best forms of mat based exercise.

Mat Pilates at Restore enables you to gain much better movement and body awareness, learn the basic Pilates principles and use your body weight to improve strength, balance and flexibility.

If you have never done Pilates before, the mat is a great place to start before you explore other options!

  • The reformer is a fabulous piece of equipment that uses springs and pulleys to provide resistance. Resistance is needed in order to get strong!

Our reformer classes will enable you to get stronger, more flexible and have a full body workout.

Clinical Pilates for everyone

  • Reformer Pilates for all levels and abilities

  • Pregnancy Pilates

  • Post-natal Mums & Bubs Pilates

  • General Mat Pilates – beginner, intermediate and advanced levels

  • Pilates for over 60’s

  • Pilates for men

Yoga

Our yoga classes include Yin Yoga and Flow Yoga. Yin yoga is a quiet and relaxing way to restore your energy levels. Flow yoga blends meditation, breath-work, and dynamic movements, starting with gentle warm-ups and progressing to challenging sequences.

Exercise Rehabilitation Classes

We run gym based exercise rehabilitation classes each week for people who have arthritis or those who have had a knee, hip or other joint replacement.  Age ranges from 40’s through to 80’s in these classes and you will certainly reap the benefits usually noticeable after only 2 weeks!

Booking into a class

  • Bookings are required for all classes. Options to book include:

    Log in online here.

    Phone 09 945 0399

    Email admin@restorephysioandpilates.co.nz

  • If you are new to Restore please book your free 15 minute telephone initial consult first. This allows us to gain a better understanding of you and your circumstances (if you have any injuries or medical conditions for example, or perhaps neither of these), and we are then able to guide you in what classes would be best for you.

This is so that we can get a better understanding of you, your goals, and any medical conditions or injuries you may have. This is also to ensure you have a good grasp and understanding of the Pilates principles and we can then advise you on which class/classes would be appropriate for you. We do not want to put an advanced person into a beginner class and vice versa!

  • When we exercise and move we are often not aware of how we are moving; and we are not always moving well – this often contributes to aches, pains and injury. Keeping our class numbers so small allows our instructors to give you more attention and instruction and this in turn means you will gain more from each session.
